Those individuals who think and reiterate that they mean “no harm” in commenting (more like criticising) on your parenting and overall capability if your baby cries out in public, how they lay in their pram, what way they’re dressed, how you’re feeding them etc.. we all know some nosey roseys👃🏼👃🏼
Recently, I experienced some nosey roseys first hand.
I was out shopping with my baby and I knew she was due a feed when we got home. I popped into a shop before we went home for a few bits and bobs knowing I would be back in time for her feed.
During this not even 5 minute trip my baby started crying for her bottle as it was close to feeding time; because, she was crying and clearly upset 3 different nosey roseys proceeded to inform me (whilst sticking their heads into the pram may I add!!!) that my child is “hungry, definitely needs a bottle”.. “oh try her dummy shes upset might make her quiet” which my response was “well I know what she needs I clearly haven’t hurt her have I, she’s crying for a feed” .. WHY do people think it’s acceptable to pass comments on the reason a child is crying?!?! Like actually go out of their way to stop walking to nose and pass a comment. We don’t have to justify why a child is crying to you people!!!
This is a really big bug bare of mine. Has anyone else had something similar?
It doesn’t seem like a big deal but when you’re in that situation it really is. There isn’t a need to go out of your way to stop yourself from a conversation or walking out of a shop to comment and look and point as to why a child may be crying. It’s quite rude.
I have never wanted to roll the pram over someone’s feet as much as I did in that situation.
If my child wants to cry she can cry it doesn’t mean to say she’s hurt or upset she can’t tell me what’s wrong she’s just letting me know she needs to be heard, and I her mother will deal with the situation.
So to all them nosey roseys next time shut your ears and let a child cry because one day a parent may just roll over your toes with their very heavy pram, we’ll see who’s crying then🙂🙂
